Look at yourself in the mirror

The Habit Coach on YouTube by Ashdin Doctor offers bite sized self help tips and is recommended by Amit Varma, of India Uncut and The Seen And The Unseen fame.

In one of the first episodes I heard,  Ashdin asks 'When you look into a mirror, do you see your flaws,  your best self, or do you not look long enough to know?' When you see a friend,  do you see their parts, or their complete being? So, why do you see your individual flaws? So stop being too critical of yourself.

Every few days, so and look at yourself in the mirror.  You may not like what you see.  You may not recognize who you see.  But, have a conversation with that person. Talk about how you feel, how far you've come, how you've done in life. Find a true connect with yourself. See yourself as a complete individual.

Tokyo Trial on Netflix

Watched 'Tokyo Trial' on Netflix, about the trial of the Japanese after WWII. Very well presented, combining archival footage of the trail, along with a dramatization of what happened behind the scenes.

I would've liked more focus and elaboration on the sole dissenting opinion of the Indian judge, Binod Pal, (played by Irrfan Khan, a small role) not only because he was Indian, but also because he is the foil for the other characters (the story could've been narrated by him) resulting in various deliberations, before the hypocrisy of Western Powers is exposed.

Starry starry night!

Tried my hand at one of the creations by a master. At the end, what emerged can only be called an inspiration.

Greater Coucal, possibly!

The lockdown and the absence of humans has brought out many birds, who've occupied the woods near our home. This bird appears to be the Greater Coucal (compared with an image from the net), but not too sure about it!

Prashant Kishor speaks to Karan Thapar

Karan Thapar runs out of vitriol, as his anti-Modi desperation doesn't get support and validation by Prashant Kishor. A balanced and studied analysis by the latter, in response to the usual appalling hopelessness of the former.

I wish Prashant Kishor comes back to the BJP fold sooner, because he'd be a great administrative force, for the country.

Stop appraising Modi! And start doing!

The opposition is targeting Modi for the current Covid-19 situation, saying that he called the lockdown too late, or too soon, that we are not testing enough, or not well enough, or not providing economic relief, and the like.

All parties have been harping on the fact that we are a federal structure and Modi shouldn't have too much power centralized.

Well, now is the time to act as a truly federal democracy. Assume for a minute, that Modi is doing everything wrong, or not doing anything.

Let all those who celebrate federalism, stop appraising Modi and do whatever they think is best for the country.

Kids see what we don't!

Kids see what adults don't! My daughter saw a handbag, where I saw only a binder clip! And her Lego figurines were happy because each one got their own! Lesson: Learn to be childlike!

Bombay under lockdown!

Mixed feelings, seeing Bombay this way; while I admire its beauty without the crowd and the chaos, there is a tinge of sadness seeing the life sucked out!

We will overcome!
